Living beings move across the surface of the ground, following the dictates of gravity as they go about their lives. Every day, the ground serves as a canvas for various imprints, and as long as gravity persists, reversing this relationship permanently seems improbable. Furthermore, living beings have the ability to alter the surface of the ground. Whether through the imprints of hooves or shoes creating patterns upon it, or by forcefully stamping their feet upon the earth, they can leave their mark, indenting only the areas they touch. From the perspective of the interaction between bodies and the ground, I perceive a subtle violence inherent in this one-sided relationship. I seek to portray the act of touching the ground through natural phenomena, everyday objects, and methods of reenactment based on memory.
生き物は重力に従って地面の上を移動して暮らしている。毎日地面は何かしらの下敷きで、 重力がある限りその関係が恒久的に逆転することは難しい。 加えて生き物は地面の表情を変えることができる。蹄や靴の跡が地面に模様を作り、土の 上で力強く足踏みをすれば、その部分のみへこませることができる。 身体と地面への操作性という点から、私はこの一方的な関係に静かな暴力性を感じた。 地面に触れるという行為を自然現象、日用製品、記憶による再現方法を用いて表現する。
